To really push growth, Biosys can make locked up minerals more available to your plants (like phosphorus). It also uses the bacteria that takes nitrogen from the air and turn it into a form your plants can use!

As well as improving nutrient availability, the clever microbes in Biosys also produce substances that improve plant growth!

The Science

Biosys is teeming with friendly organisms and beneficial fungi:

Beneficial Fungi

Endo Mycorrhizae - 8 Species
Known to improve water and nutrient uptake (most importantly, phosphorus). It attaches to plant roots and send its hyphae (like small roots) out into the surrounding soil to absorb nutrients and water. In return, your plant feeds the fungi sugars.

Trichoderma - 2 Species
Main function is to ward off pathogens – it’s actually pathogenic to other unwanted fungi, such as Pythium! Also helps degrade complex organic matter so it can be converted to nutrition.

Rhizosphere Organisms

Nitrogen Fixing Bacteria - 2 Species
Live close to the root surface, and takes nitrogen from the atmosphere readily available to your plants.

Bacillus - 8 Species
Boosts your plant’s natural defences, and make locked up minerals more available to your plants. They also help the Mycorrhizae establish and function.

Pseudomonas – 2 Species
Decomposes organic matter, assists plant development and protects against pathogens.

Microbial catalysts and plant growth promoting foods
Carbohydrates, humic acid, seaweed extract, amino acids and proteins. They help the microorganisms in Biosys grow in the root zone. Some of these foods also have other functions - the seaweed extract and amino acids aid plant growth, humic acids improve nutrient exchange in the growing media.

Some of the Bacillus, Pseudomonas and Nitrogen fixers also produce hormone substances, such as cytokinin's and auxins, that help promote root development and other kinds of growth!

How To Use

What's In Ecothrive Biosys

Always use with dechlorinated (water left to stand for 12 - 24 hours) or filtered water as chlorine can kill some microorganisms.

Propagation And Potting-On

Dilution: Add 10g per 10L of water

It’s ideal for watering newly potted plants. For seed and cuttings, pre-soak Root Riot, Jiffy or Rockwool plugs for 15 mins.

Established Plants

Growing Method: Soil / Coco / Hydro

Dilution rate: Add 5g per 10L of water
If using coco or soil, water until you get 20 – 30% run-off
Repeat every 1-2 weeks
Use with water or half strength nutrient solution

Recirculating Hydroponic Systems

Dilution: Add 2.5g per 10L of water.

Repeat every 1-2 weeks or with each reservoir change.
Avoid mixing with EC higher than 1.5
The nutrient solution must be actively aerated

Stress Recovery

Dilution: Add 10g per 10L of water
Use with water only
Apply twice with a 5 day gap

Outdoor Use - Open Soil / Raised Beds

Dilution: Add 10g per 10L of water

Starting dose: Apply over 5M2 of soil
Maintenance dose: Apply over 10M2 of soil

Repeat maintenance dose every 4 weeks

Mixing

Make a concentrate first, to ensure powder is dissolved

To ensure powder is dissolved, start by making a concentrate.

Example:
Add 10g to 2500ml of tepid water (roughly 21°C)
Stir thoroughly until dissolved
Add this concentrate to the larger volume of water
Once in solution, use within 24 hours

Always use with dechlorinated water. We recommend using an RO filter to remove water impurities.

To dechlorinate tap water: aerate with air pump + air stone for 1 hour or leave to stand for 12hours.

Tips

Always stir well until powder is dissolved
Can be used just with water or with a low strength nutrient
Avoid adding the powder to a nutrient solution above 1.5EC/15CF
Do not spray or pour over flowers.
Re-seal the container after use and store in a dry location below 25°C
